    Kent School, an independent day school located on the bank of the Chester River in Chestertown, Maryland serves girls and boys in Preschool through Grade 8. The Middle School Science Teacher is responsible for science instruction and curriculum development for Grades 5 - 8. The fifth grade program is an introduction to the middle school science laboratory and to the topics to be covered over the next three years. Sixth grade studies earth science, seventh grade focuses on life science and eighth grade examines physical science. The Middle School Science Teacher works with Little, Lower and Middle School faculty to integrate lessons and classes specifically in regard to the Chesapeake Bay Studies Curriculum.

    Each Middle School faculty member also acts as an Advisor to a mixed grade level cohort of students.  Offering individualized student support and conducting parent-teacher conferences is an integral part of the Advisory program.

    Kent School, an independent day school located on the bank of the Chester River in Chestertown, Maryland serving girls and boys in Preschool through Grade 8, seeks a part-time Lower School Spanish Teacher for the 2018-19 academic year.

    The Teacher will teach Spanish language and culture to Lower School students in Grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade.  Theideal candidate will have experience in teaching foreign language and culture and her/his classroom should be one that features a strong emphasis on student-centered learning.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching literature, vocabulary, writing, critical thinking and 21st Century skills using inquiry- and project-based learning, and will have extensive experience in teaching reading and writing to middle school students of all ability levels.  The ideal candidate’s classroom is one that features a strong emphasis on student-centered learning.

    Kent School, an independent day school located on the bank of the Chester River in Chestertown, Maryland serves girls and boys in Preschool through Grade 8. The school seeks a Music and Performing Arts teacher beginning August, 2018.

    The Music and Performing Arts teacher is responsible for creating a classroom atmosphere that promotes joyful learning in a creative, caring, inclusive environment. It is expected that the candidate will instruct students in a creative curriculum which would include music, creative movement, and drama. The Music and Performing Arts teacher will teach music theory, music history, voice, recorder, violin and guitar as well as produce and manage several annual All School performances, and direct an afterschool multi-aged Chorus. The Music and Performing Arts teacher will schedule cultural arts all-school assemblies and field trips to outside performances connected to the curriculum.
