Everyday Mathematics is a comprehensive Kindergarten- Sixth Grade mathematics curriculum that focuses on developing understandings and skills in ways that produce life-long mathematical power. It is a research-based and field-tested, with a focus on developing conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills in arithmetic, data, probability, geometry, algebra, and functions. Past experiences are linked to new concepts, and provide for ongoing, spaced review. Classroom instruction makes considerable use of partner and small group work and includes hands-ion activities and explorations. Fact power is built through daily oral practice, conceptual activities, and games. Students are encouraged to learn and use a variety of strategies for problem solving and are afforded a variety of assessment opportunities.
